  Message - Principlal :

Biotechnology in simple sense means applications of biological knowledge or technique for better services to enrich human life - a phenomenon rarer than the rarest in the entire cosmos. Historically life sciences and technologies are as classical as the emergence of life itself. However the first Copernicanturn is owed to the discovery of double helical DNA structure by Watson and cricks (1953). Since than life scientists and bio-technocrats are involved more and more in studying about genetic materials, genes and their codes. They are concentrating on deciphering the coded messages in each of human DNA’s about a Lac genes, by way of the current century’s most ambitious “Human Genome Project”. Amalgamated with Nano-technology, it will establish it self as millennium’s ultimate technology.

Biotechnology, even as it is today, has knit the scattered ideas, innovations and inventions into the fabric of life, which can be, tailored suiting to the needs. The subject has triggered rational minds into a more creative mode to make the hither too impossible happenings now possible. As we understand today, living systems are cellular in nature. The cells are chocks full of ultra-micronic machines (now recognized as nano-machines) like DNA, RNA, Proteins etc. Their functions are often sympathetic, sometimes apathetic and are resonating to the tune of life. The more we understand their functional mechanism, the deeper we get an insight, not only about tailoring the bio-materials atom by atom to suit our needs but also, about designing the life it self. We are becoming growingly a aware that in the days ahead biotechnology is going to transform the society and the very meaning or purpose of being human in programmed ways.

The famous bio-physicist Issac Asimov in his marvelous book-Fantastic Voyage- depicted the saddest aspect of life right now (and even in times to come) to be that science gathers knowledge faster than society gathers wisdom. It is more appropriate in the domain of biotechnology, which is evolving by leaps and bounds, and reshaping our outlook beyond imagination. Sky used to the limit but for biotechnology not sky but outer space may be the only limit.

A few word more about the market trends in capital flows. Currently the Indian biotech market is being recognized as an emerging market. This scenario will provide new opportunities and challenges which can be faced head on only if we can muster our skilled or purposefully trained human resource for meeting new realities of economic life. In present developmental dynamics, India needs a new breed of harbingers of change. The IET Biotech Family feels its pleasant privilege in accepting the challenges ahead by way of carving the attitude and aptitude of its budding scholars strategically. Our vision is to build a new cadre of biotechnocrates who perform in this globalizing world and work for welfare of the society in general, and cooperate world in particular. We are confident that our joint and passionate commitments will prove one day a milestone in our epoch making endeavor for “Biotech India Mission”.

Last but not least. The movements have ripened now for India to launch full-scale efforts for becoming a globally acceptable leader in the field of biotechnology. Undoubtedly much grinding and polishing are to be done for our recognition among the tops of this fast evolving sector. The IET Biotech family has been enjoying that grind with a thrill. Your sharing in this stimulating academic romance will be a meaningful interaction you can trust upon. The doors are opened as and when knocked at as a seeker.

Seek & ye shall find, there is something to be found,
Here now is a cart, look the wheels whirl round !
